MIHRI Holds Official Launch Ceremony in Buluba, Celebrating Ongoing Work in Maternal and Child Health Research

Buluba, Uganda – 16th December 2025 — The Mayuge Institute for Global Health Research and Innovation (MIHRI) held its official launch ceremony today, marking a formal celebration of its ongoing efforts in maternal, newborn, and child health research. Although the institute has been operational and actively conducting research, the ceremony brought together staff, partners, and community representatives to officially inaugurate MIHRI’s work in Buluba.

Celebrating Innovation and Collaboration

The event showcased MIHRI’s commitment to data-driven, locally led innovation in maternal and child health. Staff, midwives, clinicians, and public health researchers were joined by guests from Mayuge Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, government health agencies, and international partners, highlighting the institute’s collaborative approach.

During the ceremony, attendees toured MIHRI’s research and training facilities, including data analytics labs, training rooms, and community engagement spaces, witnessing the institute’s capacity to transform routine healthcare data into high-quality, actionable research evidence.

MIHRI’s multidisciplinary team of innovators, including midwives, clinicians, data analysts, and public health specialists, was formally recognized for their work.
