Isaac John Egesa (MSc, PhD Fellow)
Isaac is one of the co-founders Mayuge Institute for global health sciences research and innovation limited (MIHRI).He is an epidemiologist trained from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has worked at KEMRI Wellcome Trust Research Programme, Kilifi Kenya where he coordinated a number of studies on epilepsy and mental health. Isaac has experience in the field research, malnutrition, neuroepidemiology, epilepsy and psychometrics. He also holds a post graduate diploma in Health Research Methods from Pwani University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Moi University. He is interested in epidemiology of epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders among children in low resource settings.

Christopher Baleke (MSc, PhD Fellow)
Christopher, a founding Director of Mayuge Institute for Global Health Sciences Research and Innovation (MIHRI), is an accomplished Epidemiologist with training from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Currently pursuing a PhD in Genetic and Life course Epidemiology at the University of Bristol, he aims to explore the causal relationship between pregnancy experiences and postnatal cardiometabolic health. With over six years of experience in epidemiological and public health research, Christopher has developed extensive statistical analysis skills. His work includes analysing data from cluster randomized control trials and leading research on a population-based cohort study. Christopher's research interests focus on understanding the dynamics of maternal and child health improvement, particularly in vulnerable communities. He is keen to employs robust statistical methods and investigate long-term maternal and child health outcomes using real-world health data.

Dr. Naziru Rashid M.D (MBchB, MPH)
He is one of the co-founder of the Mayuge Institute for global health sciences research and innovation limited (MIHRI). He also serves as currently the university medical officer at the Islamic university in Uganda. He holds a masters degree of Public Health from Makerere University and bachelors of Medicine and surgery from the same university. He is a medical officer practicing clinical medicine. He has recently served as an Ebola Virus disease Consultant in the Ebola Virus Disease preparedness project in the districts of south western Uganda under the management sciences for health (MSH) Organization sponsored by The United States Agency for International Development is an independent agency of the (USAID). Before joining IUIU, he served as a locum Doctor at Mulago National referral hospital, Kampala West Medical Centre, Mengo Doctors clinic and Vine medical Centre.

Kwana Lechile (BS, MSc)
Kwana is one of the co-founders Mayuge Institute for global health sciences research and innovation limited (MIHRI). She is a trained laboratory scientist who obtained her BSc in Biochemistry and Human Physiology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has since been working for two large clinical research institutions in Botswana, Botswana Harvard Health Partnership and Botswana-UPenn Partnership, based in the laboratory. She has 8 years research work experience contributing to randomized clinical trials, implementation and surveillance studies, and observational cohort studies primarily focusing on HIV, Cryptococcal meningitis, COVID-19, AMR, and Rotavirus and other gastroenteritis-causing pathogens in the under-5 population group. Through her exposure in research, she has acquired laboratory techniques in DNA/RNA extractions using manual and automated platforms, multiplex PCR, ELISA, bacterial culture, and in the evaluation and validation of various lateral flow assays. She has also contributed to the procurement and installation of laboratory equipment in the Botswana setting.

Asan Kasango (MPH)
Asani one of the co-founders Mayuge Institute for global health sciences research and innovation limited (MIHRI). He is a social scientist researcher with over 10 years of extensive research experience. He has mainly been involved managing cohort studies and clinical trials. He has strong skills for participant recruitment and quantitative analysis. Asani has profound interests in maternal and child health involving underserved communities.

He is a dedicated medical statistician and researcher with a strong commitment to improving maternal and child health in low-resource settings. He has rich background in advanced statistical methodologies, data science, and machine learning. Isaac has made significant contributions to various fields, including maternal and child health, mental health, diabetes, and respiratory diseases His work is driven by a passion for addressing pressing health challenges faced by vulnerable populations, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.

Sombo Fwoloshi (MD, MSc)
Sombo Fwoloshi is an infectious Diseases Physician and clinical researcher based at the University Teaching Hospital in Zambia. She also has an honorary academic role at the University of Zambia School of Medicine Int the Department of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases Unit. She obtained her medical degree and internal medicine/ID MMed from the University of Zambia, she completed her MSc epidemiology from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and obtained her clinical tropical medicine specialization from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (Gorgas course) Lima Peru. Her work experience includes strategic partnerships, infectious diseases program leadership and digital health. She has extensive clinical experience in various infectious diseases, particularly, tropical diseases HIV,TB Acute & Long Covid. Currently she is working on the epidemiology of AMR in Sub-Saharan Africa and improving outcomes for patients with sepsis due to AMR pathogens.

Denis Ndekezi (MPH, Social Scientist)
Denis Social Scientist, a member of Mayuge Institute for Global Health Sciences Research and Innovation (MIHRI), holds a BSc in Population Studies from Makerere University and an MPH with a focus on health promotion from Uganda Martyrs University. As a behavioural social scientist and public health practitioner, Denis specializes in sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents, young people, and persons with disabilities.
He is currently leading a project to develop an intervention for improving sleep health among Ugandan secondary school students

Alice Nassanga (Social Scientist)
Alice, a member of Mayuge Institute for Global Health Sciences Research and Innovation (MIHRI), is a Social Scientist with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Muteesa 1 Royal University in Uganda. With over six years of research experience, she specializes in sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents, young people, and individuals living with HIV. Alice has contributed to significant research projects, including the multi-country Long-Acting Treatment in Adolescents (LATA) clinical trial, comparing injectable HIV medications to daily tablets across Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. Her expertise extends to epidemiological interventional studies on menstrual health and mental health among Ugandan schoolgirls.
